I found J. Kaye's blog today and her 2009 challenge to read 100 books. I'm really psyched because I finally found a reading challenge I want to join!
I've seen so many about reading books from your TBR lists, or books that are more then 450 pages, or books from certain locations, or written in certain time periods...etc, and I wasn't interested because I always want to leave my options open when choosing books to read.
This one's great because I can read any book I want, and they all count towards my 100+ book goal, and it's also about time I started counting the books I read again.
I've only ever kept track of my numbers in 2004 and 2005. Ever!
In 2004, I read 230 books, but that was while I was in college and having more time to slack off (I studied and did all my projects at the last minute). In 2005, believe it or not, I challenge myself to cut down on my books, limiting myself to 50 books. You'd never believe how I rationed my books! LOL! I barely made it too, final count was 52 books!
I didn't keep track of any of the books I've read since, but I always wondered at the exact figures.
So, now that I'm joining J. Kaye's 2009 100+ reading challenge, I'm going to start listing the books I read again!
But it only starts on 1st January 2009, anything before that doesn't count, and anything after 31st December 2009 doesn't count either.
You can join anytime between now til 31st December 2009, so go to J. Kaye's blog and sign up if you want to play too!
